Some school systems announce afternoon closings due to stormy weather

TENNESSEE VALLEY – A handful of school systems have announced changes to afternoon schedules due to the storms expected to move through this evening. Check the latest forecast.

  • AAMU – evening classes and activities canceled.
  • Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama – no after school activities and no bus transportation.
  • Decatur City Schools – all after-school/extended day activities canceled.
  • Drake State Community and Technical College: no evening classes
  • Hartselle City Schools – all after-school/extended day activities canceled.
  • Huntsville City Schools – all after-school and evening activities, including extended day, are canceled.
  • Lawrence County, TN Schools – closing at 1 p.m.
  • Limestone County Schools – all after-school activities canceled.
  • Madison City Schools – all campuses closing at 5 p.m.
  • Madison County Schools – all campuses closing at 5 p.m.
  • Oakwood University – closing at 5 p.m. No evening classes or activities.
  • Randolph School – all after-school activities cancelled.
  • Russellville City Schools – all after-school activities cancelled.
  • Valley Fellowship Christian Academy – closing at 3 p.m.
  • Westmister Christian Academy – All after school activities cancelled except Afterschool Care, which will close at 4:30 p.m. on both campuses
