FORT CARSON, CO. (WHNT) – A Fort Carson soldier has pleaded guilty to several sex assault charges.

In court Tuesday, Aaron Lucas pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault on a child, enticement of a child and indecent exposure, according to Madison County Assistant District Attorney Jason Scully Clemons.

Clemons says his office worked with the District Attorney’s office in El Paso County, Colorado and in Texas to reach a global settlement.

Lucas pleaded guilty to all of the Colorado charges and some of the Texas charges.  As part of the plea deal charges in Madison County will be dropped.

Lucas is a 1st Lieutenant in the Army, married, and a father of two. He is still considered active duty.

Investigators say during his service at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, he lured or tried to lure 11 young girls into his car. The children were all between 6 and 9 years old.  Police in Madison, Alabama were also involved in the investigation.

Recently, Lucas had claimed his identical twin brother was responsible for the crimes.  A judge ruled last week that he could pursue that line of defense.

The family did confirm Aaron Lucas’ guilty plea to us Tuesday.
