FORT HOOD, Tx. – A soldier, whose home of record is listed at Huntsville, Alabama, was found in her off-post home with an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities have identified her as Spc. Cecelia Devonna Shannon. She was known as Cecelia Cole.

Investigators say Cole was unresponsive when emergency crews responded to her home in Killeen on November 4th. She was pronounced dead the next morning.

Cole, 22, entered active-duty service in October of 2012 as a horizontal construction engineer. She had been serving at Fort Hood since November of last year.

Officials with Fort Hood say the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
