HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- A 1,000 foot water slide down Holmes Avenue had people lining up today, as Slide The City made it's way through Huntsville for another year. Co-Owner of Slide The City, Spencer Hunn, said they went all out this year.

He said, "We were here last year, we didn't have a great hill picked out last year, this year it's amazing, and uh it's the greatest set up in our slide the city tour really, and people are having a blast it's so much fun."

Judith Dutton and her family came all the way from Branson , Missouri to check it out. Dutton said Slide the City is coming to her hometown next week, and she will definitely recommend it.

She said, "Anytime you've got a slide the city coming to your area, absolutely bring the kids, bring the whole family out. It's, i mean even if you don't feel like you want to slide there are lots of folks along the roadway here that are watching the kids have a great time, just really enjoying themselves."

Austin Borden had a blast celebrating his birthday there, except for a small request. He wished, "One thing I could change is the heat, make it a little cooler."

But despite the heat, the Dutton family's favorite part is definitely one way to make the most of it, and stay cool in this unbearable heat.

Tim and Timothy Dutton said, "Probably bumping into other people, and then it's really fun, yeah, and then they bump into you and you go really fast down the hill."

Slide the City hopes to make its return next year.
