HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police responded to a shooting at Huntsville Place Apartments Monday.

Police were called to 4955 Century St NW around 12:30 PM.

HEMSI official Don Webster says their crews took a man to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.

Huntsville Police have identified the victim as Dallis Patrick Ryan Wolfe, 22, an Alabama A&M student.

During the investigation a drone was flown overhead to survey the crime scene.
Officers spent much of the afternon focused on a white Hyundai with a florida license place, which was later towed away as evidence.

News 19 spoke with a local pastor and leader of a non-profit committed to speaking out against area violence. He arrived after hearing news of the shooting, pained by the thought of another senseless death in his community.

“Keep in mind. I have to funeralize a lot of the murder victims here in the city of Huntsville. I’m the one who has to deposit their bodies in the ground, and I see the hurt. I feel the hurt,” said Cornell Martin, Executive Director of Chill Huntsville & Stop The Violence.

Madison County Coroner Tyler Berryhill has confirmed that this is an active homicide investigation.
