UNA selects new police chief

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Leaders at the University of North Alabama have named Kevin Gillilan as their next chief of police.

Vice President of Student Affairs David Shields released a statement saying Gillilan will start July 1. He replaces Bob Pastula, who resigned in December. Mark Parker has served as interim police chief since January.

Gillilan is currently the chief of police at the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg Campus.

“Chief Gillilan brings a wealth of university and municipal police experience to UNA,” said Shields.

Gillilian is finishing his doctorate in criminal justice administration.
