Tuscumbia father charged in baby’s death has first court appearance

COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Tuscumbia man charged in the death of his 2-month-old son made his first court appearance Friday morning.

Colbert County Courthouse officials confirm 28-year-old Michael Wade Logan appeared in District Court.

Judge Chad Coker explained Logan’s capital murder charge and will appoint two attorneys to represent him.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate the infant, Michael Wade Logan, Jr., died from multiple traumas to the head and body.

Logan will be held in the Colbert County Jail without bond.

He was charged Thursday.  The baby died Saturday, August 2.
