FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - When the bell rings, students prepare to go home. But for teacher Scotty Brown, it`s the start of his school day.

"Opportunities because that's what we are all about. Not just for the students, but for the teachers and for the community. I love working here. It's the only place I've ever worked and I plan to retire in Florence City,” said Brown.

Brown is part of the Impact 80 program. The purpose of the program is to allow teachers to enter the next level of their education.

Through a partnership with The University of North Alabama and a private sponsor, teachers only have to pay a third of tuition price.

An opportunity Brown couldn`t give up. It`s taking him to the next level, not only in his education, but in other parts of his life, as well.

"Personally, my wife and I are about to welcome our first child and financial that's something that would have never happened without Impact 80," said Brown.

A program that isn`t only impacting teachers, but also the world.

"It really should be called impact thousands because that's what it actually does," said Brown.
