Shoals, ALA. (WHNT) - A storm knocked down power lines and trees throughout the Valley, but swept through the Shoals area first.

Lt. Ive with the Sheffield Police Department Tweeted that there are close to 15 houses in the area with trees on top of them.

The River Bluff road area was inaccessible, and impassable in parts. Crews put up cones and blocked roadways to protect everyone from downed, live power lines.

Damage reports also came in from Florence about 10 minutes after the storm started. At the Florence Harbor Marina, a dock broke loose hitting River Bottom Restaurant. Emergency crews cleared the boaters, and the restaurant closed for the night. Active power lines were said to have been in the water.

In a community off Cloverdale Road, a tree fell on top of an elderly couple's home. That happened off Robinhood Drive. The couple was fine, and neighbors told WHNT News 19 that was the second time in two months a tree fell on that house.

Reports of serious damage were also at Deshler High School, the Foodland plaza in Sheffield and downtown Tuscumbia.
