MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WHNT) – From the church pews to Turner Field, Woodward Avenue Baptist Choir is preparing for an experience of a lifetime. The choir will perform on Turner Field on June 17.

Choir member David Branscomb says the choir practices every week, but this week and next, the pressure is really on.

"Everybody is excited; I think people are feeling pressure. We are a small town choir. We were blessed to be selected. We are looking forward to it. We just want to do a good job," said Branscomb.

Church leaders say the process for the choir to perform on Turner Field wasn’t easy.

They had to audition and send in a rehearsal tape. Then the Braves selected them to sing the National Anthem.

It's an accomplishment not only for the choir, but for the whole church.

“We’re going to take over left field. We have two charter buses taking folks. And that's how we are going to do it,” said Senior Pastor Williams Rushing.
