Florence man arrested for attempted bank robbery

FLORENCE, Ala. – A would-be robber was stopped Monday afternoon when a bank teller noticed something was off and pushed the panic button.

Police have arrested Keenan Randle who they say was attempting to rob banks in disguise. Police say they received reports of an individual attempting to enter local banks wearing a disguise on August 19th. The report says that the individual was either locked out or entered and left the banks without contacting employees.

Around 12:25 p.m. the Florence Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at Listerhill Credit Union. Police said the would-be robber was waiting in line to approach the teller when they hit the panic button.

Officer say they arrived within two minutes and detained Keenan Randle. Police say Randle was wearing a disguise that matched the earlier descriptions and was in possession of a note which demanded money.

Mr. Randle was interviewed by detectives and charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
