FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - Although Joshua Boston didn't feel like his usual self as he recovers in the pediatric unit of Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital,  the 10-year-old's smile got a little brighter Monday afternoon with a visit from Santa Claus and officers from the Florence Police Department.

"He's got 'The Night Before Christmas with Garfield and Odie,'" said Florence Police Chief Ron Tyler, as he hands Joshua the book as a gift.

Chief Tyler and a few others from the Florence Police Department stopped by the Children's Center of ECM Hospital to bring smiles to faces.
They delivered a few gifts to the kids recovering there during the holiday. It's something the department does every year.

Although Joshua was a little shy with Mister and Mrs. Claus, he enjoyed the surprise visit.
