MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WHNT) – Police are searching for the suspects who have broken into several mobile homes in the last few weeks, stealing anything they can load up.
The thefts have happened at three dealerships, and they’re costing the owners thousands in replacement costs.
Gerald Murray, owner of Gerald Murray Mobile Homes in Muscle Shoals, read over a police report taken this month, “Someone broke into one of the homes, took the stove, the refrigerator, and they gained entry through the back door.”
Murray is one of three mobile home dealers that have been hit by thieves, taking anything of value inside.
“We could tell it was the same person, because in each and every case the method they used of taking the stoves out of the house,” said Murray.
Along Highway 43, Meadowbrook Mobile Home’s and Randy’s Mobile Home lot have also been hit multiple times, stealing refrigerators, stoves, and furniture.
Owners of Meadowbrook and Randy’s said the people even did it while the sun was still up.
“It’s just hard to believe that someone would be so bold or so stupid as to come in like that, because they had to be so close to being caught,” Murray said.
As for Murray, he’s not taking any more chances; he’s installed several security features on his lot, as to not be burglarized again.
Muscle Shoals Police are asking for the public’s assistance in bringing the people responsible to justice.
