Story updated with new information.

FLORENCE, Ala. – Suzanne Hoy shipped off some t-shirts, keepsakes of her husband and her young son, to a Florence woman named April. She wanted a quilt made, but she couldn’t seem to get a timeline on when that would happen. When she reached out to us, she said she couldn’t even get her shirts back.

“It’s memories for us that we can’t recoup,” Hoy said.

Months ago, she found April’s Quilt Gallery on Facebook.

“She gave me the pricing that I needed,” Hoy remembered, “And she told me there was still time to get them done for Christmas.”

Obviously, that deadline came and went some time ago.

WHNT News 19 did a story about Hoy’s plight:

We heard from people saying they were family of April’s. They had a different account, but wouldn’t provide proof.

But Hoy has an update to the story now. At the end of February, she got a call from her husband, who told her she’d never guess what came in the mail.

“April made it right,” Hoy tells us.

She now has both quilts, completed and beautiful.

“They look great,” Hoy says, “They’re exactly what I asked for — the colors look great. They’re perfect.”

Hoy sent us a picture of an envelope addressed to April of April’s Quilt Gallery, saying she’s posted payment, hopefully sewing this loop shut.
