Person who died in Florence commercial building fire identified

FLORENCE, Ala. – One person died during a fire at a commercial building on Northington Court in Florence. Coroner Butch Tucker has identified the victim as Justin Ross, 34, of Florence.

Chief Perkins with the Florence Fire Department believes Ross died from smoke inhalation but Tucker says there will still be an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

Florence Fire and Rescue and the Police were called to the scene. The fire happened at Right Solutions, a business that sells a variety of janitorial and cleaning supplies, warehouse equipment and more.

Perkins shared an update about the fire overnight:

Florence fire crews battled through the night and into the morning hours.

There is currently no word on how the fire started.
