FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Florence Police officers and fire crews responded to a rollover accident in McFarland Park Wednesday afternoon.

A vehicle flipped and landed on its side after veering off the O’Neal bridge embankment. Police Chief Ron Tyler confirmed two people suffered non life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.

A message on the Florence Police Department Facebook page indicates the driver appeared to have suffered a medical condition contributing to the crash.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene just before 4 p.m., and traffic was slowed on the bridge. Meanwhile, an 18-wheeler was attempting to cross, also backing up traffic.
