FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Many people were excited about the grand opening of Chick-fil-A’s newly rebuilt restaurant in Florence, customers and employees alike.

A crowd of people camped outside the store Wednesday night in order to be the first 100 adults in line and win free Chick-fil-A for a year.  Employees rang cowbells and cheered to welcome customers inside and get their prize card.  There were more than 100 people waiting when the doors opened.  In fact, 110 registered last night, with 10 of them signing in as alternates in case anyone dropped out overnight.

The First 100 feature is limited to people who live within 25 miles of the restaurant.

The former drive-thru-only restaurant at 341 Cox Creek Parkway was torn down four months ago and completely rebuilt as a stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant complete with indoor dining, a playground and the chain’s latest kitchen and interior design.
