A check cashing scheme has a Florence business on high alert.

Investigators say two men targeted the same grocery store.

According to investigators, a man caught on the surveillance camera hands over a fake check at the Foodland grocery store on Darby Drive and walks away with nearly $400 in cash.

Just days ago, the same scenario plays out again, but this time, a dark-headed man walks up to the counter.

Police say the two fake checks look the same, with the same company name, the same signature, and worth the same amount.  Investigators believe the two men are working together.

In the surveillance video, detectives see a man pushing a shopping cart, stop to talk to the suspect at the counter.  Investigators think that man is the first suspect in this case.

Officers want the fake checks to stop circulating through the Shoals and if you have any information about who these people are, give an anonymous call to the Shoals Area CrimeStoppers tipline at 256-386-8685.

If information leads to an arrest, as a result of your call, it could be worth a cash reward.
