RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-  The coach of a Russellville football player is asking for prayers.   Our news partners at The Huntsville Times/Al.com report that Austin Kitterman was injured in a Saturday ATV accident near Phil Campbell in Franklin County.

As of Monday, Kitterman was listed in critical condition in Huntsville Hospital’s intensive care unit.

Coach Mark Heaton says the junior free safety has severe head injuries.

Heaton told Al.com that Kitterman was a passenger on the ATV.  He says a teammate who was driving the vehicle was also hurt, but only suffered minor injuries.

The coach says prayers are greatly needed.

“He is fighting for his life.   We just need all the prayers from all over the state that we can get right now for his family and this team and this very tight-knit community.”
