FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Florence Police Department (FPD) said traffic was impacted Wednesday in one area of the city after a vehicle crashed into a building.

Authorities confirmed one person was injured in the incident, which happened at the intersection of Court Street and Veterans Drive. The injured person was transported to the hospital by EMS.

A spokesperson for FPD told News 19 that one vehicle had run a red light, and two vehicles made contact. Then one of the vehicles went off the roadway and into the business, according to the spokesperson.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible or use extreme caution while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
