NAUVOO, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama sheriff says a man killed his son, sent a picture of it on social media and then killed himself when a deputy arrived.
Walker County Sheriff’s spokesman T.J. Armstrong told Al.Com that it happened on Tuesday.
Sheriff Nick Smith told The Daily Mountain Eagle that someone called for help saying the father had sent them a picture on Facebook messenger, showing that the victim had been shot.
Smith says the father also threatened to shoot himself if law enforcement came to the house. The sheriff said a responding deputy heard a single gunshot before both bodies were found.
Authorities didn’t immediately release their names. An investigation is ongoing.
