HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - With school starting up again, kids are going to want new clothes so they look stylish for class.  That can be costly.  WHNT NEWS 19 took action to find ways that parents or grandparents can save money dressing children for school or any other occasion, for that matter.

You've probably heard the old saying, "You get what you pay for."

At The Boutique Closet, consignors have paid that expensive price for these items, and you don't have to.

An otherwise empty space at the Target Shopping Center off University Drive is turning into a collection of pricey merchandise that's not so pricey.

The Boutique Closet will open to the public on August 8th and 9th, allowing consignors to sell their name-
brand clothing.   Jana Kerley and her husband, from Hartselle, did it last year twice during the year.

They  allow only specific boutique and trunk brands, such as Matilda Jane, Persnickety, Livie and Luca, Gap, Gymboree and Polo, to name a few.

Consignors can get earn up to 85% of their selling price and buyers score with paying less than half of the retail price.

Shoppers can also find children's large toys and furniture at the sale.

The sale plays out over two weekends: August 8th and 9th and August 15th and 16th.

Then, right after the doors close on that sale, the empty storefront will reopen with another sale from September 12th through the 21st.

Klassy Kids Exchange features children's clothing from newborn to teenager, maternity clothing, children's toys, and furniture.

At the same time, at the Jaycees Building on Airport Road in Huntsville, another consignment sale will get underway.

Kids Kloset allows consignors to earn 70% commission on what they sell and buyers to score with deep discounts on gently used items.

Shoppers will find clothing for boys and girls from newborn to teenager.  There will also be toys, furniture, and electronics for sale.

And there's an extra incentive to buy at Kids Kloset  -- some of the proceeds will go to help a local family adopt a child.

The Kids Kloset public sale is set for September 11th through the 13th.

Finally, there's another sale in Madison.

Sweet Repeats is set for September 17th - 20th at 102 Tribble Drive, near Palmer Park.   You can find more information about Sweet Repeats on their Facebook page.

Consignors can earn up to 75% on their high quality, new and gently-used children's items, including anything kid related from infancy through teens.

It should be noted that there are pre-sale dates for volunteers and consignors for these sales and there are certain dates when consignors can drop off their items.

And here's yet one more sale going on August 6th through the 9th:  R&R Consignment.  It's happening at the Hilton Garden Inn at 301 Boulevard S SW in Huntsville.

Organizers Beth Rorex and Melissa Robley say this is their third year to hold the sale.  It features clothing from several boutiques that consign directly with them.

The brands featured include Matilda Jane, Persnickety, Gymboree, Mini Boden and many more brands at great prices.   Clothing items are new or gently used and they also sell strollers, games, and toys.

Organizers say, in the past, remaining inventory that didn't sell was donated to the New Hope Children's Clinic.
That included the new boutique Items that were remaining.
