Rover Challenge brings student from all over the world to the Rocket City

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)- The Rover Challenge is a two day event that attracts students from all over the world. Almost 80 teams competed in this years competition. Teams from the United States, Italy, Germany, India, Mexico, Columbia and Russia, as well as Puerto Rico, took on NASA’s annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge.

The challenge requires students teams to design, construct, test, and race human-powered rovers through an obstacle course that simulates the terrain potentially found on distant planets, asteroids or moons. Teams race to the finish the obstacle course in the fastest time. This year all the teams were challenge to design and make their own wheels as well.
