House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) could end the stalemate in Washington D.C. right now, according to a report from The Huffington Post.

The online news website asserts all Boehner needs to do is bring a “clean” continuing resolution (also called a C.R.) to the House floor and it would pass. A “clean” C.R. means a bill to fund the government without strings attached.

The Huffington Post reports that under those circumstances, “Democrats would vote for it, and enough Republicans are publicly now on board to pass it. [We have] been keeping a running tally of which Republicans have said they support doing this. Privately, more GOP lawmakers have indicated they would as well.”

Boehner has said previously a “clean” vote will not be allowed and the fight to amend The Affordable Care Act through the budget process will continue. President Obama and Senate Democrats have said negotiating on Obamacare will not happen until a “clean” measure funding the government is passed.
