WHNT News 19 has learned that a pregnant woman originally from DeKalb County has been killed while traveling with her family in the snowstorm that hit the Upper Plains.

Friends identified her as 27-year-old Colby Duckett Bostick of Clear Lake, Iowa, originally from Crossville.

Friends tell WHNT News 19 that Bostick was traveling with her husband and infant son when they were involved in a minor traffic accident on snow covered roads.  They say that Bostick then got out of the car to check on the child, when another car struck Bostick killing her.

The wreck was part of a 30-car pileup on Interstate 35 in Iowa.  At least three people died in the chain-reaction wreck.

Early Thursday morning, Bostick posted on her Facebook page asking for prayers because they were about to set out traveling in 10 inches of snow.

According to her Facebook page, Bostick found out in late November that she was 12 weeks pregnant with twins.  WHNT News 19 understands that her husband and son were not hurt.

WHNT News 19 is working to get more details on this tragic accident.
