Townsend, Barksdale elected to Limestone County Commission

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Limestone County voters approved two new county commissioners Tuesday.

Independent candidate LaDon Townsend defeated incumbent Republican Ben Harrison for the District 4 commission seat. Townsend took 53.6 percent of the votes case.

In District 2, Republican Danny Barksdale easily defeated Democrat Roger Williams. Barksdale had more than 70 percent of the vote.
