A recount will also take place, due to the close nature of the vote.  Machines will be inspected on Thursday, November 15 at 8 a.m.  The inspection takes place at the W.T. Grant Building, located at 115 Washington Street in Huntsville.  The test begins at 9 a.m.

The recount will be held Monday, November 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Precinct #18, Whitesburg Baptist Church – The Whitesburg Center, located at 7300 Whitesburg Drive.  If a second day is needed, it will continue on Tuesday, November 20 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Workers will break on both days from 11am to 1pm.

The recount is overseen by the Canvassing Board which includes the Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk and the Chief Clerk of Probate (since this race involves Probate Judge Tommy Ragland).  Both Political Party chairs have been notified of the process and time and will be present at the recount.
