MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lieutenant Governor’s Office says there have been fraudulent Facebook and email accounts made using Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey’s name and likeness.

Ivey released a statement that says, in part: “I have reported this issue to Facebook and it is my understanding that the personal Kay Ivey account is being used fraudulently.”

She says she has not used social media to solicit any money.

Ivey has been in contact with “appropriate law enforcement” in hopes that the actions of the person responsible are immediately stopped.

Key Ivey’s office does have a legitimate public account. You can find it here.
