Police team up to find and arrest man suspected of stealing a vehicle and hitting a pedestrian

RAINSVILLE, Ala. –  The Rainsville Police Department teamed up with the Fort Payne Police Department to nab a man they say stole a car and hit a pedestrian.

Rainsville Police say it happened Monday morning at the Dollar General Store at 444 McCurdy Avenue N. in Rainsville.

Police say someone called 911 around 9:00 in the morning to report a person had been hit by a vehicle that was being stolen from the parking lot.

The pedestrian was taken to DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne for medical treatment.

A short time later, the Rainsville Police  and Fort Payne Police worked together to find the suspect.

They identify him as 41-year-old Toby Lynn Hudgins of Rainsville.

Officers arrested Hudgins for a charge of theft of property 1st Degree and he could face more charges.

Police also recovered the stolen vehicle.
