WINFIELD, Ala. (AP) — A Georgia man was arrested after police say he was stopped on an Alabama interstate and found to be in possession of a stolen gun and more than $3 million in cash.

Senior State Trooper Reginal King tells local media that 41-year-old Thomas Shane Randler of Douglasville, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday in Marion County by a narcotics agent with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Police stopped Randler shortly after 3 p.m. as he was driving on Interstate 22. King says authorities searched the Ford Express van that Randler was driving and found $3.77 million in cash as well as a stolen handgun.

Randler was arrested and charged with second-degree receiving stolen property. Marion County sheriff’s deputies and Winfield police assisted in the arrest.

The investigation is ongoing. It’s unclear if Randler has an attorney.
