HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville police are investigating following a crash Tuesday morning involving an officer.

According to police, the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Jordan Lane and University Drive.

An HPD officer was stopped heading north on Jordan Lane, waiting to turn west onto University Drive.

Investigators said Kristyn Brisson was driving east on University when she took the turn south onto Jordan too wide, crossing the median, knocking over two large metal crosswalk signals, and eventually crossing into the northbound lanes and hitting the officer’s vehicle.

Officers stated Brisson was highly intoxicated and was arrested for DUI, improper turn, and crossing the median.

Utility crews were still at the scene around 6:00 a.m. fixing a crosswalk sign that was damaged during the wreck.
