PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police are investigating a robbery at Traditions Bank in Priceville.

The bank is on Highway 67.  Police say the robbery happened after 3:30 p.m.

Priceville Police say no other customers were inside the bank when the man came in.  He handed the teller a note, saying he had a weapon and wanted money.  The teller complied.

“We’re not sure what was seen.  We’re not gonna discuss details on the weapon,” said Ron DeWeese, Priceville’s Assistant Police Chief.  “He told the cashier that he had a weapon and they believed he had a weapon, so this is being treated as an armed robbery.”

Surveillance cameras caught the man running east from Traditions Bank.  Police brought in dogs to search the area, but didn’t find him.

Assistant Chief DeWeese says this is the first bank robbery he can remember in Priceville in his 24 years with the department.

If you have any information on who the man is, please call Priceville Police at (256) 355-5476.
