UPDATE: Details released following weekend stabbing in Crossville

CROSSVILLE, Ala. -  The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has released more information about a stabbing in Crossville over the weekend.

According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris, Crossville Police and Sheriff's Deputies responded to a stabbing call around 8:15 p.m., Saturday, July 8.  When investigators arrived the victim, Michael Woods, 48, was laying in the street responsive, but heavily bleeding.  Deputies and officers secured the scene and detained the suspect, 24-year-old Dakota Broome.

Woods had come over to Broome's residence to pick up his daughter, who is engaged to Broome.   Investigators say Broome asked Woods to leave the property when Woods attacked Broome.  Broome is accused of then stabbing Woods.  No arrest has been made at this time due to the ongoing investigation in the case.
