Lester man faces murder charges in brother’s shooting death


LESTER, Ala. — Authorities say a Lester man was charged in connection to his brother’s death on Saturday afternoon.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said that George Michael Turner, 33, was allegedly killed over a property dispute by his 24-year-old brother, Jason Chad Turner.

Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of Craigs Chapel Road to a property dispute report that resulted in the shooting. Around 2:05 p.m., Jason Turner called to report that his brother was on his property.

They said Jason confronted George and shot him twice, which resulted in his death. George was pronounced dead when deputies arrived on the scene.

Jason Chad Turner, 24, was charged with murder in connection to his brother’s death.

Jason Turner was taken into custody without issue and was charged with murder. He was booked into the Limestone County Detention Center where he remains without bond.
