Father dead, child injured following domestic dispute in Madison County

TONEY, AL. – A juvenile has been charged as an adult with the murder of his father. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said a father and son are among the victims of a domestic dispute that happened Saturday, August 24. Madison County deputies responded to the 200 block of Barberry Lane in Toney around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday after they said three 911 calls were made regarding a domestic dispute. Deputies said when they arrived they found a 16-year-old outside the home with his hands raised walking toward them, and deputies detained him. They then found two gunshot victims inside the home. Authorities said Chad Wanca, 43, died at Huntsville Hospital following the dispute. Hunter Wanca, 12,  is in critical condition at Children’s Hospital Birmingham. The identity of the juvenile charged with murder has not been released.
