ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Albertville police say a woman is charged with attempted murder in what started as a domestic dispute but ended with her husband shot multiple times.

Albertville Police Chief Doug Pollard says Susan Shaw is charged with attempted murder after he says she shot her husband Scott Shaw Friday morning. Investigators believe she shot him four times. “We think one across his forehead, and one in the back of the neck, and then in the back, and then the back of his arm,” Chief Pollard says.  Scott Shaw was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital Friday morning.

Chief Pollard says the shooting happened on Dick Road in Albertville.

Chief Pollard says Susan Shaw was shot once in the leg. He says they believe that wound was self-inflicted.

Officers say both individuals had pistols.

Chief Pollard says they still don't have a motive for the shooting. "Just a dispute between both of them. They just got into an argument, and it led to her firing shots," Chief Pollard says.

He says Scott Shaw is recovering from his injuries and is expected to be okay.

Officers say Susan Shaw has been arrested in the past for filing a false report. He says she could face up to 20 years in prison for the attempted murder charge.
