Two arrested on drug charges in DeKalb County traffic stop

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A traffic stop lead deputies to illegal drugs and two arrests.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says deputies did a traffic stop Tuesday on County Road 85.  Deputies got consent to search the vehicle and say they found methamphetamine.

The Drug Task Force helped investigate. Sheriff Harris says the driver, Steven Ray Mitchell, 37, of Rainsville, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A passenger, Shacota Hill, 23, of Dutton, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant in Jackson County.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says he “appreciates the good job our officers are doing as they continue to deal with illegal drugs in our county.”
