RAINSVILLE, Ala. – Three employees of DeKalb County Schools have left their positions, either by resignation or retirement after being suspended in the past few weeks.

Jesse Pat Watson resigned as custodian of Sylvania School. He was arrested earlier this month on child sex abuse charges.

Pamela Smothers Deere, an elementary teacher at Geraldine, retired.  Pascha Orr, family and consumer sciences teacher at Geraldine, resigned.

Both Deere and Orr were placed on leave in April.  Officials did not state the reason or address speculation circulating through the community.

The DeKalb County Board of Education handled these items at the May 21 meeting.
