SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WHNT) –  Three vehicles were involved in a wreck Thursday afternoon in Scottsboro, including a city school bus.

The wreck happened about 3 p.m. on Highway 72 at Snodgrass Road.

Investigators say a Ford Econoline van was headed north on Snodgrass and crossed the eastbound lanes of 72.  As it tried to cross the westbound lanes, it failed to yield to a GMC truck traveling west on 72.  The truck then hit the van.

The impact caused the truck to crash into the school bus, which was sitting at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road.  The bus was traveling south.Five students were on the bus, along with the driver.  No one on the bus was hurt.

The bus had five elementary students and the driver on it.  No one on the school bus was injured. No one in van was injured, and the driver of the GMC truck sustained what appeared to be minor injuries.  He was taken by ambulance to Highlands Medical Center.

The Scottsboro Police and Fire departments worked the accident.
