GUNTERSVILLE, Ala.  (WHNT)- Saturday morning runners will be lacing up their shoes for the 5th annual Pink Pumpkin Run.  It will take place along the lake in Guntersville.

"The Pink Pumpkin run is 5k run, a 10k run and a one mile fun run," said Andrea Oliver with the Marshall Medical Centers Foundation.  "And people can still sign up, online or in person."

The Pink Pumpkin Run combines the two biggest things of October, pumpkins for Halloween and the color pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

"It raises money for our mammography assistance program at Marshall Medical Centers.  That provides women who can't typically afford a mammogram the opportunity to get one throughout the year."

Since the Pink Pumpkin Run started, more than 400 women have been able to get a mammogram that might otherwise have not been able to afford the life saving test.

If you would like to sign up for the race, there is still time.   The best way is to visit the online site.

You can also register Friday during packet pickup at the Guntersville Rec Center.
