SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WHNT) — Scottsboro Police need help identifying a man and woman suspected of using credit cards stolen during a funeral.

Investigator Scott Matthews said the couple seen in the images above broke into a car at Scottsboro Funeral Home and took two purses to use on a shopping spree.

The victim and her daughter quickly reported and canceled the stolen credit cards, but police said the thieves already went to Walmart and spent about $700 on a television.

Matthews said Walmart security footage showed a woman make the purchase, but another camera showed a man push the cart of the store while the woman left separately.

He said the couple also tried to use the credit card at Home Depot but it was declined.

A security camera at First Southern State Bank caught the man attempting to use a card from the other purse at an ATM, but that card was also canceled and declined.

If you can help identify the couple, contact Scottsboro Police at 256-574-4468.
