Man charged with DUI while picking up child from school

FORT PAYNE, Ala. – On Wednesday just before 2:30 p.m., the Fort Payne Police Department arrested 60-year-old Clyde William Roden of Fort Payne.  He was charged for Driving under the Influence of Any Substance.

According to Police Chief Randy Bynum, Roden was waiting in line to pick up a child at Wills Valley Elementary School.

School Resource Officer Curtis Massey noticed he was impaired to be operating a motor vehicle.  It was unknown what substance Mr. Roden was on at the time.
