BOAZ, Ala. (WHNT)- Boaz Police arrested Robert Stanton, 79 of Guntersville, on two charges of sexual abuse.  A grand jury indicted Stanton last week.

Investigators say Stanton abused two girls under the age of 12.

“Basically he was a babysitter at these folk’s home,” said John Young, an investigator with the district attorney’s office.  “The father started getting suspicious of some activities.  Talked to the children.  The children gave the father enough that got law enforcement involved.  The case gets to the grand jury, subsequently indicted and arrested.”

Stanton is in the Marshall County jail on a $300,000 bond.
