UPDATE: Jackson County escapee back in jail, caught near home

JACKSON CO., Ala. (WHNT) -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has arrested an escaped inmate.  Deputies found Terry Waldrop on Monday morning in a wooded area near his home in Stevenson.

Waldrop failed to return to the Jackson County Jail on Thursday, December 11 from court-ordered work release.  He was in jail for a probation violation.

Monday, December 15, members of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Alabama Game and Fish arrested Waldrop behind his home off of County Road 96 in Stevenson.  He was taken back to the Jackson County Jail, and is now charged with escape.
