ALBERTVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd’s Cove in Albertville is offering a support group for the community to deal with loss during the holiday season.
The holiday season is full of joy and bringing a family together; a time to be grateful and look ahead. If you’ve lost a loved one though, this time of year can be very difficult.
Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd’s Cove is offering a free support group called Hope for the Holidays. “We really want to encourage those in the community who are coping with a season of loss to come out and participate, and be able to network with other individuals who are also going through a season of loss,” Bereavement Director Stacey Johnson says.
The Hope for the Holidays Support Group will be held on Thursday, December 10th from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at 408 Martling Road in Albertville.
Multiple topics will be covered during the event.
Participants are invited to bring an ornament that represents a memory of their loved one. The ornaments will be placed on Hospice of Marshall County’s Memory Tree during the group meeting for people to enjoy year after year. “We really want to be able to serve our community, to be able to provide hope, and one of the ways we can do that is by offering an event like this,” Johnson says.
Preregistration is preferred, but attendees can also register at the event at 5 p.m.
To preregister for the free event, call Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd’s Cove Thursday during business hours at 256-891-7724.
Parking is available on the left side of the building and participants should enter the building through the double glass doors.
