ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Construction on a new shopping center is officially underway in Albertville.
Albertville officials and GBT Realty Corporation announced The Shoppes of Albertville Wednesday morning. GBT is developing the $18 million, 135,000-square foot retail center.
“We are extremely excited about this retail development and the opportunity that it will give our citizens, neighbors and visitors to shop in Albertville,” Albertville Mayor Tracy Honea said. “The retailers GBT has already recruited will fill a void in our market for those soft goods and services provided. I’m confident they will experience great success here.”
The shopping center is currently 92 percent leased. PetSmart, T.J.Maxx, Hobby Lobby, Ross Dress for Less and Hibbett Sports will be included.
The center will be situated between Highland Avenue and Carlisle Street near 431.
It is expected to be completed by the Spring of 2016.
