ALBERTVILLE, Ala. -- One of Marshall County's major companies is celebrating two milestones, and both show growth and commitment.

Sounds of machinery ring out in the Mueller Company plant in Albertville. Those sounds mean movement -  in products, and in the company itself.

"In 1976 we shipped our first fire hydrant," plant manager  Randy Epperson says. The hydrants are shipped all over the world.

This year is significant. "We're celebrating two milestones in 2016," Epperson says, "It represents 40 years for the company here in Marshall County, and also our four millionth fire hydrant.

It's been great partnering with the City of Albertville and also Marshall County. We now employ 490 employees here at this one facility, so it's had a positive impact on the town and the employees."

The facility is operating with some recent upgrades. Company officials say they look forward to continuing that trend throughout the years to come, investing in Marshall County,  just as it has for decades.
