DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A former ALDOT employee accused of trying to lure a teen online for sex pleaded guilty Thursday.

Daniel Edmond Nixon pleaded guilty to enticing a child for immoral purposes.

Nixon was sentenced to five years in prison.  He will serve one year of that sentence and will then spend three years on probation.  Nixon will also register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

Nixon posed as a teenage boy on Facebook earlier this year.  Deputies then used a 14-year-old girl’s phone to set up a meeting with him.  Nixon arrived for the meeting in his state-issued truck.
