GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Guntersville police have identified the drivers involved in a wreck that left a woman dead Friday morning.
Guntersville Police say the wreck happened around 6:30 Friday morning on US Highway 431 at the Paul Stockton Causeway.
Police say April Danielle May of Albertville was traveling south on highway 431 when the vehicle she was driving crossed over the center line and hit a pickup truck.
The driver of the truck, identified by police as Roxana Niato, was not injured.
Police say May’s vehicle continued southbound and hit a Chevrolet Malibu head on.
Officers say the driver of that car is identified as Nancy Ramos of Albertville. Ramos was pronounced dead at the scene.
Guntersville Police say they are still working to find out what caused the wreck.
May was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital with injuries.
No charges have been filed, as the wreck is still under investigation.
All four lanes of Highway 431 were closed for a time while responders worked to clear the scene.
