CROSSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - DeKalb County deputies are investigating a stabbing that happened Sunday night.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says they found a man on County Road 8 near Crossville who claimed he had been shot, but the Sheriff says he had actually been stabbed in the arm, chest and back.

Prior to him being hurt, someone had called the Sheriff's Office to report the man making obscene gestures at cars passing by.

The man, Christopher Norwood, initially ran from deputies but they were able to catch up with him. Norwood, 29, was taken to Marshall Medical Center South in Boaz and then flown to Huntsville Hospital.

Norwood is listed in stable condition.  Sheriff Harris says they are questioning several people about the incident.  If you have any information, please call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 845-3801.
